We made it to our Peru Hop picked up from our hotel by the lovely Shirley (The best Guide we had over our whole trip!) and very quickly realised that it was not just the owners of Peru Hop who are Irish, it was also the passengers! We stopped off for breakfast just outside of Lima and I got the scabbiest breakfast in the world........a piece of bread that was no bigger than the size of my thumb! Over Thumb bread and coffee we got better acquainted with our fellow travels (Many of who are still regular characters on the show!), we exchanged horror stories of what we had heard lies ahead, not going to lie most of these horror stories were either experienced or seen by all of us at some point!

After breakfast we were treated to the "Horse Show" which the only thing I felt worse for than the audience having to watch it was the horse......It just meandered around this tiny ring while it's horse friends watched on in embarrassment. We then played a game of Guinea Pig Roulette, where a guinea pig was placed in the middle of a pit surrounded by doors and if you were on the door it ran into you won a prize ....... a horse ride........ Sarah very quickly relinquished her prize! This Guinea Pig was only 1 of hundreds and despite the roulette pit it was not the main purpose of these creatures.......not pets either........

We arrived in Paracas which is kind of like a beach town in the desert, we had a nice walk about the town and eating some questionable food before joining the Peru Hoppers in one of the local hostels for Drinks and an interesting dance class........Evidence of my dancing will be in a video at some point.....Aswell as Shirley giving me Salsa lessons (did not remember anything from my secondary school dance classes!). Blurry eyed we woke up the next morning and went out to the docks to get a tour of what is being referred to as the poor man's Galapagos (now we paid 20 euro each for this boat trip and we were getting quoted 1,400 each for the Galapagos so was happy with the low budget production!). The islands themselves were full of life, from Pelicans, Penguins and Sea Lions. We skirted the Island for an hour before returning back to the main land. We spent the rest of the day wandering along the shore line before heading out for happy hour drinks in the hostel........happy hour is never a good idea lets just back that clear.....

With a much sorer head we woke up to get the next leg of our Peru Hop!
