Leaving Puno we got our bus to the edge of the Bolivian border, which you may mistake for a path because that is what it was, people taking their dogs between the two countries! We downgraded in the quality of our buses but thankfully this was only for about 30 minutes to the Lake Titicaca town of Copacabana, we hiked our way up to our hotel (Hotel is a generous term here so don't worry haven't lost the run of ourselves!). Venturing out for a spot of sightseeing and a photoshoot on the waterfront we decided to visit the island Isla Del Sol birthplace to the Sun God until the morning. Sitting down for dinner in a restaurant we were taken a back by the number of candles being used and it dawned on us that the towns electricity had been taken off the grid...... Now normally this is fine but in this case we had just landed in Bolivia so had limited funds from what we had exchanged and no electricity meant no cell single so no visa cards and no ATMs.

Retreating to the hotel (in which we were the only people staying the night but they still insisted on putting us on the 5th floor with no lift) we were greeted to a knock on our door by the creepiest hotel assistant weilding a candle....... wasn't gonna sleep a wink. But we woke up the next day with the equivalent of 5 euro between us......so rather than waiting on our prepaid Bolivia Hop bus we had to bargain our way to La Paz with the Locals (didn't even have enough money to pay for our lunch in Copacabana, so rather than wait we legged it to somewhere with Electricity).

But I was told Isla Del Sol was beautiful..........maybe next time!
