We got a tuk tuk up the coast to our next stop Matara, less beach and more villa vibes! We checked in to a really nice villa for a few days on the outskirts of the town, this made for an ideal place for Sarah to read and for me to start interviewing (……..not the most fun thing to be at but better than the psychometric assessments I’m currently doing!).

Along with chilling we booked a very affordable safari in one of the national parks. Seeing water buffalo, peacocks, crocs and of course a lot of elephants we rounded off the day at an elephant orphanage. Nothing better to warm (and simultaneously break your heart) than 50 baby elephants fighting over milk and playing in the dirt!
